MANDATORY CRUISER
Hello AnswerMan 4x4,
I have a 1964 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 40, it is all stock. It runs and drives great, but last year I towed about 100 miles, all coasting. I parked for about 4 months while I was moving. Last month, I would use it and started back up, it was locked for some reason, I pulled forward and then backed up ok, but when I started to move forward it was locked again, so I saved a small amount and then went OK.But every time I tried to save or forward it would lock up and I need to do the opposite to make it go in the direction I wanted to go. Any ideas?

Hi Jerry,

TIP: If you plan to continue to flat tow your FJ40, I would recommend removing the rear driveshaft and make sure your front hubs are free to rotate. If not, there's a good chance you have a similar problem or worse after fixation. Flat towing in neutral is not recommended by most owners FJ40, especially over 50 mph.It takes less than 10 minutes to remove the rear driveshaft.

DIRT BIKE HAULER VAN
4x4AnswerMan I am in the process of lifting my 76 Chevy G20 van. It will be used as a carrier of dirt bike, not necessarily a hardcore off-road van. The plan is to use 16 or 17in wheels for a more modern look. The hubs are in 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern. I think the exchange hubs rear axle and the front with a 6 or 8 lug truck, and to win the game, I'd like to meet with a front hitch pin offset if possible.Seems they used the same axis for vans and light trucks through the early 90s. Is it possible to exchange out of stock for a pin designed for a Chevrolet pick-up? Or do you have a suggestion to gain height? Mike

I have a 1995 Chevrolet Z71 has 6-inch lift and 35 inch tires. It is a short bed regular cab. It does not have much power. Everything is available on the powertrain wise. Someone told me to change the reverse and help with feeding problems.It also gets terrible gas milage to 7.2 miles per gallon. Oh I also put dual flowmaster on it.

FS: 1971 FJ40 Project and Parts Vehicles

One (dark blue) has the straight 6 in it w/ a rebuilt carburetor but apparently the #6 cylinder is dropping a valve. He said the engine ran but I really didn't verify that. It does have a 3 speed transmission w/ 3 on the tree. I didn't get a good look at the frame, but it looked like it only had some surface rust. The tub is in pretty bad condition... The dash, surprisingly, looked to be in pretty good condition. The other (light blue) is ready for a V8 Swap and has the motor mounts in it but no motor. He has bucket seats in this one, however they are some random aftermarket vehicle seats. (And yes I know the bezel is on upside down... I wanted to say something, but I don't think he really wants to work on these.) Also this vehicle doesn't have the '71 hood, it has a '78 hood. I have no idea what on Earth what was going on with the back seat of this one.. Your guess is as good as mine! The hard top is basically trash. It is cracked in the front and the drip-rail is pretty rusted and is missing a driver side hard top window. There didn't look like there was much rust on the floor, but there was one spot under the driver side vent.
