Cherokee County Fair Queen Candidates
Jill Addison - Jill Addison is the daughter of Jeff and Jean. She has one sibling, Jesse. She will be a senior at Marcus-Meriden- Cleghorn School this fall. Her favorite school activity is jazz band. She likes the competitive nature and being able to meet new people. Other school activities include cross country, jazz band, leadership team, golf and art club. Jill's hobbies include reading, biking and fishing. Community activities are 4-H, Sunday School aide, Grand Meadow Heritage Days, 4-H County Council. This summer Jill will be babysitting and working at the Marcus Library. After high school she plans to go on to college and study either agricultural engineering or animal science. She wants to participate in the queen contest because she wants to represent the 4-H community while making new friendships and gaining new experiences. Jill feels she could be an asset to the Cherokee County Fair because she is always willing to help out and she has previous experience with the fair. Courtney Behrens - Courtney Behrens is the daughter of Keith and Denise Behrens. She has two siblings: Colby and Cody Behrens. She will be a senior at Marcus- Meriden - Cleghorn schools this fall. Her favorite school activity is pep band because it allows her to support her team and have a lot of fun. Other school activities include art club, Quiz Bowl, concert band, pep band and jazz band. Courtney enjoys drawing, playing the flute, working with animals, reading, hanging out with friends, and riding horse. Her community activities include 4-H and County Council This summer she will go to Colorado for vacation, show cattle at the fair, babysit and ride horses. After high school she plans to attend Iowa State for veterinary medicine. Courtney wants to participate in the queen contest for the overall experience, to make new friends, and to work on my leadership skills. She believes she could be an asset to the Cherokee County Fair because she has been a participant and a spectator at the fair for ten years and her experience from both aspects has given her insight on how some things could be improved. Shelby Marie Bingham - Shelby Bingham is the daughter of Scott and Lisa Bingham. She has one sister, Jordyn Bingham. She will be a senior at Cherokee Washington High School this fall.
