Police prepare for Watford community cricket day
Police officers will take to the cricket field next week as they attempt to build stronger links with the community.
Held at Watford Town Cricket Club , the annual community cricket day gives families the chance to experience the game and to find out more about Hertfordshire Constabulary and the Police Authority.
Children, meanwhile, will be entertained by a bouncy castle at the Horseshoe Lane ground on Sunday, July 10. The event will begin at 12pm and runs until 6.30pm.
PC Irfan Ishaq, one of the event’s main organisers, said: “Last year’s match ended in a nail-biting tie between police and a team of players from the local community, and this year’s match I am sure will not disappoint.
“But it is also a great community event which brings officers, Crimestoppers representatives and residents in the community together. I would really like to encourage anyone who is free on Sunday 10 July to come along. Whether a fan of cricket or not, there is plenty for everyone to do.
