Attempted copper robbery at New Castle church
NEW CASTLE, Pennsylvania - New Castle police are investigating an attempted copper theft at a local church.
When the pastor of Cornerstone Community Church arrived at the building on New Butler Road at 7:30 Sunday morning, he found the water running in the kitchen and copper pipe cut out, but it was left on the floor.
Nothing was taken. "We feel very blessed because all they did was cut the lines and nothing was removed, so it's just a matter of replacing the cut pieces," said Pastor Joseph Lahr.
Because the pipe was cut out, the running water got into a few Sunday school rooms and drenched some rugs and paper supplies, but there was no damage to the sanctuary.
The 10:30 a.m. church service was not disrupted.

On beach trips growing up all I knew were drip castles. I never imagined using buckets and shovels to shape and define castle walls. See when we went to the beach we walked a good long way from the house to the shore. Most folks drove their dune buggies.
